I'm shocked and saddened to hear that @stevesilberman passed away yesterday. My deepest condolences to everyone who knew and loved him. He was a wonderful man, brilliant and full of empathy and wisdom in these hard times.
He will be greatly missed.
@MaryAustinBooks @stevesilberman a friend just shared this magnificent post of Steve's. Among his many great qualities was the way he took his Buddhist practice seriously.
Steve got it right

A line from a movie ? about a God Figure that fears his own demise, " I can abide all assaults , less the one, that I am forgotten"
The Bible says, "It is not what comes from mans mouth that you may know of them ? It is by their Acts shall you know them"

@mrcompletely @MaryAustinBooks @stevesilberman I had been seeing the eulogies pouring in but until I saw his avatar here I didn't realize who was being mourned. I'm humbled. He will be missed. What a voice. This is a wondrous legacy.
@Tarnport He obviously touched a great many lives and left everyone the better for it.
@MaryAustinBooks I'm a mess. Thank you for sharing. Sleepers, awake.
@Tarnport @MaryAustinBooks @stevesilberman such an interesting man. He knew a lot of amazing people from Oliver Sacks to Edward Gorey and David Crosby and all the old Beat generation heads. He was an early expert on internet culture. One of the smartest and most insightful Deadhead elder statesmen, and one of the first well known out gay deadheads. Then he wrote one of the best nonfiction books of the modern era and had a huge positive impact on understanding autism, beloved by that community
@mrcompletely @Tarnport @MaryAustinBooks @stevesilberman oh how horrible. his writing was immensely influential and positive for the neurodivergent community. he will be remembered. rest in peace. <3
