#nowplaying Peter Lang - The Thing at the Nursery Room Window. A nightcap spin around some #fingerstyle guitar that is quick, light and sharp. A 1973 Takoma Records album (John Fahey’s label) and definitely of that era in its humorous titles, somewhat stodgy yet inventive playing, and general high quality factor. A good score on my way to music practice this evening. Great cover too.

Fun fact (not really, given the role of climate change): since this album was recorded, the nine-banded armadillo has expanded its range northward from TX-FL latitudes to parts of Illinois and NC, and it's still on the move, as is Leo.
Bill Orcutt, more often than not, hasn't been an easy listen as he set about deconstructing guitar norms into more angular, dissonant forms, but his new LP on his Palilalia imprint sees him beckoning the less experimentally inclined closer with an intimate, warmer & mellow set of acoustic guitar meditations that will sound great great soundtracking a lazy spring Sunday.

I’m a #fingerstyle #diy #folkmusic songwriter and also sometimes more #guitarsoli #americanprimitive artist who does a fair amount of #homerecording sometimes with light #psychfolk touches, bits of #wahguitar and other #guitarpedals etc, and enjoys #layers and #ambient #soundscape also in general though a lot of my stuff is pretty folky.
