Sorry for the glare! The final of the MFSL 2LP 45rpm releases. One of my very favorite albums. I am hoping that this pressing lives up to the hype when I finally crack it open.
What other albums would you like to see MFSL release in 45rpm? For me, I think Wake Of The Flood would be my choice.
@tonymasiello I’ve never owned a physical copy of this record, and looking at the back cover I’m confused. Who is above Billy? Is that Phil? I thought Mickey was back in the fold on this album, so why is he missing? Unless that’s Mickey, in which case why is Phil missing?
@helbonikster @tonymasiello well, Micky’s wiki reports he returned to the GD in October’74 which coincides with the recording of this album. However, the BFA Album Wiki page lists Micky as a “contributor” and returning to the band officially resuming membership in the band in ‘76. GD wiki contains a somewhat convoluted bar graph that supports the ‘76 return.
@NWTrailhound @helbonikster @tonymasiello Mickey absolutely was part of the recording of Blues For Allah which started in early 1975 (including a notable credit for "crickets"), and he began appearing at all GD performances as a member starting with 3.23.75. The discussion over whether he was a guest or member at 10.20.74 is semantics. Jerrybase lists him as a member. So his return is either the last show of 74 or the first of 75 however you slice it. Idk about the album cover
@mrcompletely @tonymasiello @helbonikster no doubt. He’s introduced by Bill in One From The Vault
