I saw an outstanding jazz performance last night, Hamid Drake's Turiya paying tribute to . The show was presented by Ars Nova Workshop at the Solar Myth in South Philly, my first sit down show in the venue (which I liked). Hamid talked quite a bit about Alice Coltrane's history, legacy and he depth of her work. The grooves they achieved last night were absolutely transcendent.
