Just received an email that the Jazz is Dead venue moved from The Regency Ballroom to The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. I have never been to GAMH and pretty excited about that. That being said, I hope they didn’t move because of lackluster ticket sales. Could be the other way around depending on the Regency Ballroom room. Hopefully this is the case.
@tuneslist @fogelnet think we still have the terms and offer sheet around here somewhere / one of bigger regrets in life that we didn't do it / the road not taken / tbh though that path of being inside the GAMH 100% of the time likely led to destination rehab
@GreenTeam @fogelnet didn't the other roads lead also to rehab?
@fogelnet @tuneslist hmmm ummm for some maybe / stick to the psychedelics kids
Then of course there is this
One of my first tapes too
Grateful Dead
Album - One From The Vault

@tuneslist Boz Scaggs runs it / owns it now, no?
(Let me Google that for me)
@fogelnet @tuneslist "In May 2000, during the dot-com boom, the venue was acquired for a reportedly seven-figure sum by music website Riffage.com" - maybe Boz is part of that group https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_American_Music_Hall
@fogelnet GAMH is a much better room with much better sound, but is a lot smaller. 750 vs 1400 I think.
@fogelnet GAMH is amazing. I've only been there twice but they were both very memorable shows.
@fogelnet saw John Brown’s Body there in 2008. Great venue!
@lizlovesmusic I was pretty excited about the venue change. I have never been and looking forward to going.
